Name: Shaina Leanne McGregor Age: 23; 03/19/86 Occupation: Actress, works in the movie section of Jerry's Records Sexuality: Undecided Status: Single Hometown: New Orleans, LA
∂ Ayla Beauchamps knew she wanted to raise her family in New Orleans when she had one. Growing up there had made her who she was and the Cajun would never fully leave her. So when she fell in love with a Yankee she wasn't sure what to do. And by Yankee she didn't just mean someone from up north. An actual player for the New York Yankees. She'd been on vacation with her best friend before the woman got married. She wanted to go up north to NYC to have a bachelorette week. On their first night they met some men, one of whom Ayla definitely took a shine to. "Mac" McGregor was definitely charming, too charming some might say. He didn't reveal what he did right away but he did get her phone number and called soon after. The two spent the whole week together and finally he revealed what it was he did. She wasn't a huge sports fan but who hadn't heard of the Yankees? He invited her and her friend to a game and she surrendered herself to him on her final night before going home. She didn't expect to hear from him again after that but was surprised to find flowers when she arrived back home. She was in love, completely so and though everyone told her he'd forget about her eventually he definitely didn't. He came down when he could to visit her and flew her to different places for games. She got to experience the world and only six months later she was agreeing to be his wife.
∂ The two married and Ayla left home, traveling with her husband during the season and living with him in the off season in New Orleans. Three years later she found out she was pregnant and the news changed things. They talked and decided that he'd play his final season and then settle down. Only as he prepared to resign the deal was sweetened and after they talked they decided that she would stay with her family and the baby while he spent a few more years earning money for the family. It was a hard time for them but he finally retired when he was in his thirties and took a job as head coach at Tulane University for their baseball team. By then Shaina McGregor was six.
∂ The first thing people noticed about Shaine McGregor was that she was a tiny little girl. As a baby she came out small and compared to the other children her age she was far shorter. Being tiny she wasn't one for the sports her father loved but she did start singing at a young age. Her mother got her started in the church choir and it was through church the little girl found her passion...the stage. It started with pageants at the church but then she convinced her mom to let her try out for a children's theatre. She was definitely a natural and her personality shown through, helping her grow and improve. She began to take acting classes and while everyone thought it was a phase she'd outgrow she just...didn't.
∂ There was one thing that Shaina had definitely inherited from her father and that was his wanderlust. She simply wasn't content to stay in one place all the time. Not only that but New Orleans just wasn't the city for her to live out her dreams. She loved it but upon graduating she headed out to bigger and better things. She was off to Missouri, which seemed random but she got in to the well respected Theater Conservatory at Webster University. Upon graduation she wasn't sure she was ready for New York and Chicago just wasn't for her so she decided to try out Seattle.
∂ Shaina is working hard on getting paid work as an actress and in the mean time is an employee in the movie section of Jerry's Records. She works often in independent films for college students and is working on building enough credits with extra work to join SAG. She's done a few regional productions but her real hope is to be accepted as a member of the Seattle Repertory Theatre. She likes her job, loves Seattle, and though she misses home she visits often.
